April Nail Art Challenge: Purple

Hi girls!

Time for another manicure for the April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday!
The challenge today is purple and I made a purple skittlette featuring sideway gradients.

For the manicure I started off with a light purple base of By K. Lavender Blue on my middle finger, ring finger, and pinky, and a purple base of OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I used the two polishes and a make-up sponge to make the gradient effect on my middle and ring finger. To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

The manicure I first made for today's challenge was a major nail fail, but I love how this one turned out!

Boyfriend's Birthday

Hi girls!

Today is my boyfriend's birthday!
That is why I told him he could choose the design and nail polishes for my manicure today. He chose polka dots in various blue shades - he even chose which size dotting tool I should use!

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Essie Avenue Maintain on all my nails. Afterwards I used a medium sized dotting tool to dot on a polka dot pattern in a different blue shade on each nail. On my pinky I used Essie Aruba Blue, on my ring finger I used OPI Get Your Number, on my middle finger I used Ciaté Skinny Jeans, on my pointer I used piCture pOlish Dragonfly, and on my thumb I used Etude House BL601.

Even though this is not my style, I really like how this manicure turned out!

Today I made a simple black and white manicure featuring stamping (that is a little crooked and smeared)!

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pinky, middle, and ring finger, and a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I stamped the pattern on my middle and ring finger using MoYou London Fashionista Plate Collection 08 and Mundo de Uñas White.

I think stamping is a hard skill to master!

Moustache Studs

Hey guys!

Today I have a simple skittlette featuring moustache studs to share with you!

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Yves Saint Laurent Bleu Majorelle on my pointer and thumb, a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my middle and ring finger, and a silver texture polish on my pinky. Afterwards I applied the moustache studs to my ring and middle finger.

The moustache studs I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of five (#6506 in the color Silver), so if you use them as an accent nail (or two), there are for a couple of manicures in the pack. They also come in gold and bronze.
I collect things with moustaches on them and these studs are perfect! I really like them because they are awesome and fun, and because they are curved to fit the nail, which make them really easy to use!
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store, remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 for 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

Fancy Friday: Blobbicure

Hey guys!

Today it is time for another Fancy Friday challenge, which this week is blobbicure!

For the manicure I started off with pale pink base of OPI Mod About You on all my nails except for my pinky which I painted with the blue scattered holo piCture pOlish Forget Me Not.
Afterwards I dotted piCture pOlish Forget Me Not across the nail in the still wet nail polish on my middle and ring finger to make the blobbicure effect. I tried to concentrate the bigger dots towards the cuticle area to make it look like a kind of gradient and furthermore I tried to concentrate all the dots towards one side of the nail to make a connection between the nails.

I ended up really loving this technique - so easy and fun!

Fancy Friday: Inspired by Fancy Friday

Hi girls!

The challenge for this week's Fancy Friday is to be inspired by another member of Fancy Friday.
I had a really hard time choosing just one manicure to be inspired by as the other members of Fancy Friday are some really talented and amazing ladies. After a lot of trouble I managed to limit myself to two manicures.

For the first manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sofie Amalie at According to Malle.
I started off with a base of the beautiful blue Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on all my nails. Afterwards I used a straw, the black polish Essie Licorice and the silver polish Essie No Place Like Chrome to achieve the splatter effect by dipping the straw in the polish and blowing the polish onto the nails.

For the second manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sussi at Negle Nymfer.
I started off with a pink base of Essie Lovie Dovie. Afterwards I used the brushes in the white polish OPI Alpine Snow followed by the pink/red Essie Double Breasted Jacket to make the cloud effect.

I wish I could have done 20 manicures - one for each of the members of Fancy Friday!

For the nail art on my middle and ring finger I placed white, round glitters from Born Pretty Store (#2370) in a polka dot pattern.

As I said I really, really love this manicure!

OPI Embrace the Gray

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of OPI Embrace the Gray from the new 50 Shades of Grey Collection.

Embrace the Gray is a medium/dark grey creme.
The formula was amazing - it applied like butter and it was opaque in two easy coats!

I think this is so elegant and classy.

Fancy Friday: One Color, Three Shades

Hello ladies!

Today it's time for another Fancy Friday challenge.
The challenge this week is one color, three shades, so I made a simple green gradient.

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow. Afterwards I made the gradient effect with a make-up sponge and the following green shades (from darkest to lightest): Essie Going Incognito, Essie Pretty Edgy and OPI You're So Outta Lime.

I'm not sure I like how this turned out.
What do you guys think about this gradient? Let me know in the comments!

Feathers

Hello ladies!

Today I would like to show you guys some simple nail art I did featuring feathers!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, ring and middle finger and with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I applied the feathers to the still wet nail polish on my middle and ring finger. Lastly I cut off the piece of the feathers that were outside of the nails.

The feathers I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of five feathers (#160 in the color #8), which is more than enough considering you'll never wear these on all your nails but only as an accent nail (or two). The feathers also come in other colors (red, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple to name some).
I like these feathers as they are easy to use, can make any manicure a little more exciting and festive, and they are really inexpensive (only 0.99$!).

Hey guys!

Today I have some snowman nail art for you guys!

For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Borrowed & Blue on all my nails except for my pinky which I painted with a textured silver of OPI It's Frosty Outside. For the nail art on my middle and ring finger I applied some snowman water decals.

The water decals I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. They come on a sheet (#9971 in the pattern BLE117) with a lot of different decals - christmas trees, snowmen and santa hats to name a few. There are also a lot of other christmas water decals in different styles and motives.
I really like these water decals as they are easy to apply, look really awesome on and are really cheap (they are only 0.99$!).

Fancy Friday: Lead Light

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to share with you guys.
Today the challenge is lead light, which is a technique by Messy Mansion, where you add color to your stamping design with sheer nail polishes.

For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc on all my nails. Afterwards I stamped the floral design on my middle and ring finger with MoYou London Pro plate collection 07 and Mundo de Uñas black stamping polish. Then I colored in the stamping design with the sheer nail polishes OPI Sheer Tints: I'm Never Ambarassed (yellow), Be Magentale With Me (pink), Don't Violet Me Down (purple) and I Can Teal You Like Me (blue). To finish off the skittlette manicure I added the silver glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust to my little finger.

I like the sketchy style of this nail art.
