Hey guys!
Today I have some nail art to show you - an ikat design!
For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Deborah Lippmann Blue Orchid on all my nails. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the white OPI Alpine Snow to freehand diamond shapes around my nails. Then I did the same inside the white squares with the orange Essie Peach Side Babe. To finish off the ikat design I used black acrylic paint to outline the white and orange squares with 'fuzzy' lines.
I have been wanting to make an ikat design in forever and I love how it turned out!
What do you guys think about this nail art? Let me know in the comments!

Pearl Necklace
Hello ladies!
Today I have some awesome nail art to show you guys - a pearl necklace manicure inspired by @anna_xiewei!
For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on all my nails. Afterwards I used a wax pen to place the pearl and gold caviar beads in the shape of a pearl necklace on my nails.
The pearl stud I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a wheel (item #287) with 3 different sized pearl studs.
I like these pearl studs as they are easy to use, really pretty and because you get a lot for your money (the wheel is only 4.14$ and there are pearls for many uses)!
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 for 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to check out their nail art items!
I really, really love how this nail art turned out!

April Nail Art Challenge: Family
Hey guys!
Time for another manicure for the April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday!
Today the challenge is to be inspired by family. I told my little brother to pick out some polishes and he chose a blue, a green, a white, and a black. I made this dotticure inspired by Rijah with the polishes my little brother chose.
For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Essie Butler Please on all my nails except for my ring finger, which I painted white with OPI Alpine Snow. Afterwards I used a medium sized dotting tool and the two polishes I have already mentioned, the green By K. First Class, and the black Essie Licorice to make the dotticure.
I really like how the ring finger turned out, but I don't know if I like the color combination on the other nails.
What do you guys think about this family nail art? Let me know in the comments!

Fancy Friday: Astronomy
Hello ladies!
Remember to check out what the other girls created for this week's challenge down below!
Today it is time for another Fancy Friday manicure. The theme this week is astronomy and I made a galaxy manicure with my new Yves Saint Laurent Nuit Noire, which means black night!
| Three coats with one layer of top coat |
For the manicure I started off with Yves Saint Laurent Nuit Noire on all my nails. Nuit Noire is a black jelly polish with black and silver square glitter and a pearlescent shimmer. It takes three coats to build up to full opacity. Afterwards I used a make-up sponge and the following polishes to make the galaxy effect on my nails: OPI Alpine Snow (white), Essie Mesmerize (blue), Essie Borrowed and Blue (light blue), and Essie No Place Like Chrome (silver).
Even though Nuit Noire is difficult to work with, I love how it looks on the nails!

Fancy Friday: Inspired by Fancy Friday
Hi girls!
The challenge for this week's Fancy Friday is to be inspired by another member of Fancy Friday.
I had a really hard time choosing just one manicure to be inspired by as the other members of Fancy Friday are some really talented and amazing ladies. After a lot of trouble I managed to limit myself to two manicures.
For the first manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sofie Amalie at According to Malle.
I started off with a base of the beautiful blue Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on all my nails. Afterwards I used a straw, the black polish Essie Licorice and the silver polish Essie No Place Like Chrome to achieve the splatter effect by dipping the straw in the polish and blowing the polish onto the nails.
For the second manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sussi at Negle Nymfer.
I started off with a pink base of Essie Lovie Dovie. Afterwards I used the brushes in the white polish OPI Alpine Snow followed by the pink/red Essie Double Breasted Jacket to make the cloud effect.
I wish I could have done 20 manicures - one for each of the members of Fancy Friday!
What do you guys think about these manicures? Let me know in the comments!

Flakies
Hello ladies!
A few days ago I finally got my hands on a long time lemming of mine: Essie Shine of the Times!
Today I did some nail art featuring said nail polish inspired by @sloteazzy.
For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on all my nails. Afterwards I made the chevrons on my ring and middle finger using Mini Chevron Nail Vinyls from Glam My Mani and Essie Shine of the Times. I mattified the flakie chevrons with Essie Matte About You. To finish of the skittlette I applied a square gold stud from Born Pretty Store (#5003) on my pinky.
I love how this turned out and I love Essie Shine of the Times.

Matching
Hello ladies!
Today I have something a little different to show you guys - nail art made to match my weekend bag from Friis & Company!
I actually did something like this once before with my shoes from SHOE SHI BAR.
For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pinky, middle and ring finger and a taupe/brown base of Essie Chinchilly on my pointer and thumb. For the floral print on my middle and ring finger I applied full nail water decals and I painted on the silver half-moon on my pinky with the silver nail polish Essie No Place Like Chrome.
The water decals I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in one sheet (#15582 in the pattern #DLS-194), so you have to cut it out in smaller pieces that fit your nails before use. You can also get the same pattern with a different back-ground color, but I chose the black one to match my bag.
I like these water decals as there are enough for numerous manicures (considering you only use them as an accent nail or two), they are really pretty and classy, they are easy to apply and you get a lot for your money (they only cost 1.59$!).
If you want to buy something from Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.
I love how well this manicure matches my bag and how pretty it turned out!

Feathers
Hello ladies!
Today I would like to show you guys some simple nail art I did featuring feathers!
For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, ring and middle finger and with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I applied the feathers to the still wet nail polish on my middle and ring finger. Lastly I cut off the piece of the feathers that were outside of the nails.
The feathers I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of five feathers (#160 in the color #8), which is more than enough considering you'll never wear these on all your nails but only as an accent nail (or two). The feathers also come in other colors (red, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple to name some).
I like these feathers as they are easy to use, can make any manicure a little more exciting and festive, and they are really inexpensive (only 0.99$!).
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

Clean-up Tutorial
Hey guys!
Today I made a little tutorial on how to clean up around your nails.
Let's get started!
Products used:
- Nail polish
- Acetone or nail polish remover
- An angled nail art brush
Start off by applying any nail polish you adore. Here I used the black Essie Licorice.
As you can see in the picture there is some nail polish outside of the nail, which makes it look messy.
Use an angled nail art brush dipped in acetone or nail polish remover to remove the residue nail polish around the nail by swiping the brush along the curve and sides of the nail as seen in the picture.
This clean-up technique is really easy and it makes your manicure look like it is done by a professional!
The brush I used for this clean-up tutorial is from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a set of 15 brushes (#8793 in the color Light Green) with brushes in different shapes and sizes for both nail art and clean-up purposes.
I really like this set as it has brushes for everything (striping, detailing, clean-up, the dry brush technique etc.), they are of great quality, they look really pretty with the green handles and they are really cheap (only 8.02$!).
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.
I hope you guys found this clean-up tutorial and brush review useful!

Today I have some more christmas nail art to show you: a french santa hat manicure!
For the nail art I started off with a red tip of Essie Lollipop. Afterwards I used the white nail polish Essie Blanc and a dotting tool to add the fur details on the santa hats. Then I went in again with Essie Lollipop and a small nail art brush to draw a triangular shape down the nail to make it resemble the top of the santa hats. Lasty I added more fur details with Essie Blanc and a dotting tool and outlined the top of the hats with black acrylic paint and a small nail art brush.
This is one of my all time favorite christmas manicures!
What do you guys think about this christmas nail art? Let me know in the comments!
Stay polished.
