The Classics: Favorite

Hello ladies!

Today I have the last blog post in the series of blog post concerning classic nail polish colours that every woman should own!

Everybody needs as least one favorite nail polish, that is not a traditional colour (such as red, pink or nude). It could be a colour that makes you happy or just your favorite colour with your favorite finish (metallic, sparkle, frost etc).
A woman's nail polish stash should consist of the basic colours (the classics) in a few different shades and then a lot of fun and beautiful favorites!

I chose my four favorite nail polishes to show you guys today.

L-R: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Essie Hide & Go Chic, Essie Ruffles & Feathers and Essie Too Taboo

Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (original formula) is a bright cobalt blue.
Essie Hide & Go Chic is a deep azure blue.
Essie Ruffles & Feathers is a teal green.
Essie Too Taboo is a bright fuschia - the perfect berry shade!

This concludes the series of blog post concerning classic nail polish colours that every woman should own.
Now I have talked a lot about which colours are necessities in every woman's nail polish collection, but remember you can vary within these colours with their finishes and shades (dark or light). Also remember the seasonal colours: you should wear darker colours in the fall and winter, pastels in the spring and more vibrant, bright and maybe neon colour in the summer.

What are you girls favorite polishes? Let me know in the comments!

Waterfall

Hey guys!

Today I have another manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K. to show you - a waterfall manicure!

I started off with a teal base of By K. no. 79 Glacier. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the green glitter polish By K. no. 80 Waterfall (there is no point in hiding where I got my inspiration) to make random lines in different length down the nail to make it resemble a waterfall.

I love how these turned out!

15 Fathers Day

Hey guys!

Today I have another manicure for the June Nail Art Challenge for you - a Fathers Day manicure!

In Denmark we celebrate Fathers Day on the 5th of June every year, so I already celebrated it this year. My little brother and I gave our father a specialty beer and some peanuts.

I really did not know what to do for this manicure! I thought long and hard about doing beer nails, suit nails or something like that. Then I remembered this manicure by Erin at Paint Those Piggies and I decided to use the idea!

I told my father to pick between two and five polishes. He chose the white polish Essie Blanc, the black polish Essie Licorice and the green polish Essie Going Incognito, and told me to do football nails, because every dad is watching the World Cup these days! And that is what I did!

I love how these turned out! So fun and sporty!

06 Fav Movie

Hello ladies!

Today I have another manicure for the June Nail Art Challenge for you guys! As the title of this blog post displays it is a manicure inspired by my favorite movie!

Even though I do not watch a lot of movies (I am more of a tv-series kind of girl), I have a lot of favorite movies. Some of my favorite movies are every Harry Potter movie ever made, Frozen, Forest Gump, Love Actually, Monsters Inc. and Maleficent (to name a few).
After much consideration I came to the conclusion that I simply cannot pick only one favorite movie. That is why I have taken the liberty to interpret this challenge, and instead of making a manicure inspired by my favorite movie, I chose to make a manicure inspired by my favorite time a year to watch movies, which is around christmas! Every year around christmas I watch Love, Actually at least five times and Home Alone 1 and 2 at least two times each while I polish my nails!

For the manicure I started off with a green base of Essie Pretty Edgy on all of my nails except for my accent nail, which I painted red with Essie Lollipop. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by cutepolish on YouTube using Essie Licorice (black), Essie Blanc (white) and Essie Good as Gold (self-explanatory).

I did this manicure once before last year in December - you can see that one here.
This manicure is definitely my favorite christmas manicure - it is so cute with the little Elf's and Santa suits.
What do you girls think? Do you approve of my interpretation? Let me know in the comments!

Essie Mojito Madness

Hello ladies!

Today my boyfriend gifted me a new Essie polish (how cute is he?) and of course I had to try it on right away! The polish is Essie Mojito Madness, which is a medium green creme polish.

The formula was sooo good! It went on smoothly and easy with only two thin coats.

I am in love with this nail polish - it is the perfect green! I love how vibrant it is and how perfect it is for spring and summer.
What do you girls think about this green? Let me know in the comments!

Ruffian with silver and green

Hey guys!

Today I made another manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using no. 68 Moon Dust from their Imperial Collection and no. 64 First Class from their AW13 Collection.

I started off with a silver base of By K. Moon Dust. Afterwards I painted on two coats of By K. First Class a little higher up the nail, but in the same shape so you leave that little moon shape at the cuticle area. It is a really easy design, and it is so classy and pretty at the same time!

I love this ruffian manicure - I think it is so pretty!
What do you girls think about this ruffian manicure? Let me know in the comments!

Snow in the woods

Hi girls!

Today I made a simple manicure using Essie Going Incognito and Dance Legend Dotty Top.
When I was done, it totally reminded me of snow in the woods!

Essie Going Incognito is a dark green polish. The formula was amazing - sooo buttery and smooth to apply and it only needed two quick coats to be completely opaque.
Dance Legend Dotty Top is white hexagon glitters in a clear base. The formula was great and so was the glitter pay-off.

What do you girls think of this manicure? Does is remind you of snow in the woods as well?
Let me know in the comments!

St. Patrick's Day

Hey guys!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope you are all wearing green today - I am in the form of nail polish (naturally).
Today I have a swatch and review of Dance Legend Top Magnetic for you guys.
Top Magnetic is a silvery grey magnetic top coat.

The formula was great - smooth and really easy to apply. The top coat is supplied with a magnet with diagonal lines, which works perfectly! You just have to hold it over the wet polish for 10 seconds or so and the silver particles all line up nicely to create the magnetic effect.
The magnetic effect is very strong and clean, provided you hold the magnet still for the 10 seconds.
Down below the Top Magnetic is shown over the green polish Essie Pretty Edgy.

Dance Legend Top Magnetic is really awesome because it makes any one of your polishes into a magnetic!
What do you girls think of that? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo
