Floral

Hello ladies!

Today I made a floral skittlette that is perfect for spring!

For the manicure I started off with a purple base of Essie Lapis of Luxury on my pointer and thumb, and a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, middle, and ring finger. Afterwards I applied floral water decals to my middle and ring finger. To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

The water decals I used for this manicure are from Born Pretty Store. They come in one sheet (#16259), so you have to cut it out in smaller pieces that fit your nails before use. On the sheet there are also some pink flowers you can use in another manicure.
I like these water decals as there are enough for numerous manicures (considering you only use them as an accent nail or two), they are really pretty and fun, they are easy to apply, and you get a lot for your money (they only cost $1.99!).
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

I really love how this floral skittlette turned out!

Essie Coat Couture

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of Essie Coat Couture from the new Essie Cashmere Matte Collection to share with you guys!
Coat Couture is a taupe/purple matte nail polish with aqua blue shimmer.

The formula was amazing, it was easy to work with and it was really self-levelling - especially for a matte polish. The opacity was amazing as well and it was opaque in just two thin coats.
Down below I used two coats and no top coat.

And here it is with a shiny top coat.

I love this polish both matte and shiny!

Twin Nails

Hi girls!

Today I have something different to show you guys - twin nails I did with the sweet Selina of @nailsbyselina.
We also used these manicures for a Danish challenge called MandagsMani (MondayMani), where the theme this week is window, which we interpreted as looking into a mirror (instead of out a window) and mirroring each other.

For the manicure I started off with the lilac creme Essie Lilacism on my thumb and pointer, the lilac/silver scattered holo piCture pOlish Lizzie on my middle and ring finger, and the dark purple scattered holo piCture pOlish Hussy on my pinky.
For the nail art on middle and ring finger I water marbled using Essie Lilacism, piCture pOlish Lizzie and piCture pOlish Hussy.

Doing twin nails was really fun and I hope it is not the last time I get the opportunity.

Polka Dots

Hello ladies!

Today I have some nail art that I am really happy with to show you guys featuring some glitter placement that turned out awesome!

For the manicure I started off with a blurple (blue/purple) base of OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? on all my nails except for my pinky which I painted with the silver texture polish OPI It's Frosty Outside. For the nail art on my middle and ring finger I placed white, round glitters from Born Pretty Store (#2370) in a polka dot pattern.

As I said I really, really love this manicure!

Christmas Trees

Hi girls!

In November I made some christmas nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. and during December I will be showing them to you.
First up is a christmas tree manicure!

To make this christmas tree manicure I started off with a fuchsia base of By K. Pink Dahlia. For the nail art on my ring and middle finger I used some tape and the teal green glitter By K. Waterfall to make triangles resembling christmas trees. Afterwards I used the silver holographic glitter By K. Super Nova and an orange stick to place the glitters like tinsels on the christmas tress. Lastly I placed the gold star studs from Born Pretty Store (#5003) on top of the trees.

I really like how I used untraditional christmas colors and how this turned out really christmas-y anyway!

Fall Skittlette

Hi girls!

Today I have some fall nail art to share with you guys - a super simple fall skittlette manicure.

For the manicure I started off with a dusty purple base of Essie Smokin' Hot (one of my favorite shades for fall) on all my nails. Afterwards I applied some gold diamond-shaped studs on my ring and middle finger using a wax pen to easily pick up the studs (review on the wax pens will be up monday). To finish of the skittlette manicure I applied a gold leaf top coat from Dance Legend on my pinky.

The studs that I used for this nail art are from the Born Pretty Store. They come in a wheel (#5003) with gold and silver studs in tons of different shapes and sizes - hearts, stars, squares and diamonds to name a few. I really like this wheel as there is a lot of different studs to pick from and you get a lot for your money (it's only 3.67$)!
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping! Click here to see their nail art products.

I really like how simple this fall skittlette manicure turned out!

Literary Lacquers Mysterious Irrevocable Sacred

Hey guys!

I was one of the fifty-one lucky winners of The Digital Dozen's 2nd giveaway and I won six optional Literary Lacquers nail polishes - I am so lucky!
Today I will be showing you guys a swatch and review of one of my new Literary Lacquers polishes: Mysterious Irrevocable Sacred - a purple linear holographic polish with blue undertones.

The formula was good - it was nice and creamy and really easy to work with. It wasn't that opaque so I applied three thin coats for complete opacity, but you might be able to get away with two if you apply the coats a little thicker.

I am in love. In love with a nail polish! A beautiful, beautiful nail polish.

Fabulous Fruits: Blueberry

Hello ladies!

Today I have some nail art for the fruit theme Fabulous Fruits to show you guys!
The nail art I did today is a blueberry manicure inspired by this manicure by Kelli at The Nail Polish Challenge who was inspired by this manicure by Paulina at Fall in NaiLove.

For the manicure I started off with a lavender pink base of Essie Go Ginza on all my nails. Afterwards I made small, blue half circles of Sally Hansen Pacific Blue to resemble blueberries. Lastly I used a small nail art brush to outline the half circles with white and then black acrylic paint and also to paint on the blueberry details with black acrylic paint.

I love the nail art Kelli does and I always feel so inspired by her!

Glitter Gradient

Hi girls!

Yesterday I received my order from NiceHair.dk consisting of two Essie nail polishes - Go Ginza, which is a beautiful lavender pink and Stroke of Brilliance, which is an awesome blue glitter.
Today I couldn't wait any longer and I had to try them on!

For the manicure I started off with a lavender pink base of Essie Go Ginza on all my nails - the formula was perfect for such a pale pink, being completely opaque with just two coats! Afterwards I made a glitter gradient down my nail using the blue glitter Essie Stroke of Brilliance.

I love this manicure and it reminds me of a waterfall!

Fabulous Fruits: Pineapple

Hi girls!

Today I have even more nail art for the fruit theme Fabulous Fruits to show you guys!
The nail art I did today is a pineapple skittlette manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K.

If you do not know what a skittlette manicure is, you can read about how Marta from Chit Chat Nails explains it here and if you want to know more about the Danish nail polish brand By K. you can visit their website here.

For the manicure I started off with a purple base of By K. Lavender Blue on all my nails except my pinky which I painted with the textured purple nail polish Nicole by OPI I'm Stucco on You. Afterwards I freehanded pineapples on my ring and middle finger with By K. Dandelion (yellow), By K. First Class (green) and By K. Choco Mousee (brown).

I simply love how these turned out!

OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm?

Hey guys!

Today I have another OPI nail polish from the new OPI Nordic Collection to swatch and review for you - OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm?
Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? is a medium blurple (blue/purple) creme nail polish.

Both the formula and the opacity is great - it is a little streaky on the first coat but easily builtable with just two coats. Like OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries this one is also a little on the thin side but not in a cuticle-seeking way.

This colour looks purple in most lightings and it is a blue-toned purple, but in some lights it looks blue and I love that about it!

Dotted Swirls

Hey guys!

Today I have another manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K. to show you.
I am totally in love with nail art featuring dots these days, so I decided to make another dotted swirl manicure inspired by Lucy at Lucy's Stash!

For this manicure I started off with a light purple base of By K. no. 78 Lavender Blue. Afterwards I followed this tutorial using the purple polish OPI Funky Dunkey and the white polish Essie Blanc.

I love how this turned out and I wore it for my graduation party!

Fancy Friday: Texture

Hello ladies!

Today I have another Fancy Friday manicure for you guys!
Fancy Friday is a group of Danish nail polish keen bloggers, that follows a joint challenge in the world of nail polish and nail art every friday.

This time the Fancy Friday challenge is texture!
I was inspired by this manicure by cutepolish and this manicure by me.

I started off with a purple texture base of Nicole by OPI I'm Stucco on You. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by cutepolish using the black Essie Licorice and the white Essie Blanc.

I am in love with nail art over a texture polish - it is definitely not the last time I will be making that!

11 Neon Gradient

Hi girls!

Today I have yet another manicure for the June Nail Art Challenge for you guys! This time it is a neon gradient.

To make this neon gradient I followed this simple tutorial by The Nailasaurus using two polishes from the Essie Neon 2014 Collection: Essie Too Taboo and Essie I'm Addicted.

Making a gradient manicure is so difficult and time-consuming, but I still love how they turn out every time - and this time is no exception!

Essie Play Date

Hi girls!

Today I swatched the perfect pastel purple for you guys - Essie Play Date.
Play Date is a soft purple creme nail polish.

After seeing this video by Young Wild and Polished and seeing how much this polish looks like Essie Sittin' Pretty from the new Essie Neon Too Taboo Collection for Summer 2014 I really wanted to have it on again!

The formula was great - smooth and buttery to apply. It only needed two coats, so the opacity was amazing as well! Just a perfect Essie formula!

This nail polish is so cute and girly (a totally Barbie shade)! I really like it!

Jazz it up!

Hey guys!

So I felt like adding some sparkle to my current manicure - OPI Funky Dunkey. That is why I added a coat of Essie Jazzy Jubilant to jazz things up.

I love how pretty and festive this turned out! The two polishes work great together!

OPI Funky Dunkey

Hi girls!

Today I swatched the perfect purple polish - OPI Funky Dunkey!
Funky Dunkey is a rich purple creme nail polish from the OPI Shrek Forever After Collection of spring 2010.

The formula was good - a little on the thin side, but opaque, nevertheless, in two coats. Furthermore it is fast-drying to a shiny finish and it has a great wear-time!

I love this shade of purple - so rich and beautiful!

Purple dotticure

Hey guys!

Today I made some more nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using two of the polishes from their AW13 Collection - no. 69 Acai and no. 70 Pink Dahlia.

I started off with a base of Pink Dahlia. Afterwards I used a medium sized dotting tool to dot on Acai in a polka dot pattern. Easy-peasy!

What do you guys think about this dotticure?

Animal Themed Manicure #1

Hey guys!

So today I am starting a brand new nail art theme with animal print manicures.
The first manicure in the series is a purple leopard print manicure!

I started off with a purple base of Essie Play Date. Then I used a big dotting tool and darker shade of purple, Max Factor Amethyst, to dot on some randomly sized and shaped spots around the nail. Lastly I used a smaller dotting tool and some black nail polish to outline the spots, some with C-shapes and some like brackets.

As you can see I did not have the time to add a top coat before taking pictures, so sorry about that!

What do you think of the nail art theme?
