Fancy Friday: Valentine's Day

Hello ladies!

Tomorrow it is Valentine's Day, but today it is time for a Fancy Friday Valentine's Day manicure!

For the manicure I started off with a light pink base of OPI Mod About You on my middle finger, ring finger, and pinky, and a red base of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the red Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art to freehand on the little kisses on my middle and ring finger. To finish off the skittlette I applied the holographic glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

I really love this manicure and I think it is perfect for Valentine's Day!

Fancy Friday: Inspired by Fancy Friday

Hi girls!

The challenge for this week's Fancy Friday is to be inspired by another member of Fancy Friday.
I had a really hard time choosing just one manicure to be inspired by as the other members of Fancy Friday are some really talented and amazing ladies. After a lot of trouble I managed to limit myself to two manicures.

For the first manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sofie Amalie at According to Malle.
I started off with a base of the beautiful blue Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on all my nails. Afterwards I used a straw, the black polish Essie Licorice and the silver polish Essie No Place Like Chrome to achieve the splatter effect by dipping the straw in the polish and blowing the polish onto the nails.

For the second manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sussi at Negle Nymfer.
I started off with a pink base of Essie Lovie Dovie. Afterwards I used the brushes in the white polish OPI Alpine Snow followed by the pink/red Essie Double Breasted Jacket to make the cloud effect.

I wish I could have done 20 manicures - one for each of the members of Fancy Friday!
What do you guys think about these manicures? Let me know in the comments!

Fancy Friday: Striping Tape

Hello ladies!

The challenge for this week's Fancy Friday is striping tape and I decided to make a skittlette manicure (surprise, surprise). On two of the nails I used the striping tape to make a french line and on my accent nail I was inspired by @missbellatracey to cover the whole nail in striping tape.

For the manicure I started off with a red base of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art on all my nails except for my pinky which I covered completely in rows of gold striping tape. On my middle and ring finger I applied one line of striping tape to make a french line.

I am so happy with the result!

Decisions, decisions

Hey guys!

I have so many untried polishes right now, I don't even know which one(s) to try on first (a real first world problem, right?)! I actually made a deal with myself that I won't buy any more nail polish until I have tried them all!

Today I would like to share two of my untrieds with you guys: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art and piCture pOlish Minty.

Yves Saint Laurent is a red crelly (a mix of creme and jelly - read more about it here) that is opaque in two thin coats. I love bright reds so of course I needed this one in my life!
piCture pOlish Minty is a mint green crelly with matte white and dark pink glitter and a scattered holographic shimmer - so unique.

I love these two together!
What do you guys think about this combination? Let me know in the comments!

Fancy Friday: New Year

Hello ladies!

Today I have the first Fancy Friday challenge of 2015 for you guys - my New Year's nails!

As I stayed with my parents during the holidays I didn't have the equipment to make any nail art for New Year, so instead I wore piCture pOlish O'Hara, which is a red nail polish with scattered holographic shimmer that matched my red lipstick for New Year's Eve.

I also want to show you guys my New Year's manicures from 2012 and 2013 to show you how much I have developed these last years!

New Year 2012

I am really proud of how much I have developed!

Fancy Friday: Favorites of 2014

Hello ladies!

Today I have this year's last Fancy Friday challenge: my favorite manicures of 2014.
Down below I have chosen my personal top 5 manicures from 2014.

Number 5

My fifth most loved manicure from 2014 is this very simple manicure featuring pastel studs. I love how some studs can turn any simple manicure into something more interesting.
You can see the blog post for this simple manicure here!

Number 4

My number four favorite manicure from 2014 is this stamped christmas sweater skittlette. I just recently got into stamping and I definitely need some more practice, but I really like the technique.
You can check out the blog post for this manicure here.

Number 3

My third most loved manicure of 2014 is this dry marble skittlette. I love this simple technique and especially this one with two lovely blue shades!
You can check out my blog post about this manicure here.

Number 2

A close second favorite manicure of 2014 is this beautiful water marble skittlette manicure I wore for the first day of uni. Even though water marbling is the hardest technique for me, I love how it turns out every time!
You can see my blog post about this manicure here.

Number 1

My absolute favorite manicure from 2014 is this tribal print gradient manicure that I made for Neglenymferne! In 2014 I really got into gradients as they are so easy to do (except for the clean-up part) and look amazing.
You can see my guest blog post here and my own blog post here.

Which of the nail art I made this year is your favorite? Which are your favorite of your own creations?

Rudolph

For the manicure I started off with a red base of By K. The Sky is the Limit on all my nails except for one of my two accent nails which I painted a skin color with By K. Pretty Nude.

Today I made some nail art that I would like to share with you guys - a floral skittlette manicure!

For the manicure I started off with a red base of Essie Lollipop on all my nails. Afterwards I made the floral nail art on my middle and ring finger by making stamping decals following this tutorial by Lucy at Lucy's Stash (using MoYou London Pro Plate Collection 07, Mundo de Uñas Black stamping polish and the white nail polish Essie Blanc). Fancy Friday: Halloween

Hello ladies!

Time for some more Fancy Friday nail art!
Today the challenge is Halloween and I decided to make a red splatter manicure to make it look like I just killed someone *insert evil laugh here*.

For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I used a regular straw and the red nail polish By K. The Sky is the Limit to make the splatter effect on all my nails - you just dip the straw in the polish and blow the polish out on your nails. It was really easy to do, but clean-up took forever!

I really love how this Halloween nail art turned out and I am going to wear it to a Halloween party tonight!

Fancy Friday: Cake Decoration

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the challenge is International Cake Decoration Day and I decided to recreate an old cupcake manicure from before I even had this blog. That is why I decided to make another Then & Now to show you guys how much I have developed these last years.

The 'Then' manicure is from about a year and a half ago and I used one of my very first Essies for the base: Essie Mint Candy Apple.

Then

For the 'Now' manicure I started off with the same blue base of Essie Mint Candy Apple. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by cutepolish on YouTube using Essie Lovie Dovie (pink), Essie Pink Happy (dark pink), Maybelline Coral Craze (orange), acrylic paints (white and red) and a small nail art brush.

Now

I am really proud of how much I have developed these last years!

Essie Dress to Kilt

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of one of the polishes from the new Essie Dress to Kilt 2014 Fall Collection - the name-sake of the collection: Essie Dress to Kilt!
Dress to Kilt is a cranberry red crelly.

The formula was great - it was smooth and easy to apply just as the other polishes I have tried from the same collection. The opacity was good and it was opaque with two coats.
It is not the most unique red out there, but it is sooo shiny - you don't even need a top coat!

I love darker reds for fall and Dress to Kilt is just perfect for that!

Essie Jag-U-Are

Hi girls!

Today I have an Essie polish to swatch and review for you guys - Essie Jag-U-Are.
Jag-U-Are is a cherry red nail polish with gold shimmer.

The formula was really good and so was the opacity - it was a little streaky on the first coat, but with just two thin coats it was fully opaque.
The nail polish was really hard to photograph and the picture below doesn't even do it justice - the shimmer is more conspicuous and it is much more vibrant in real life!

I love red nail polishes and this one is so unique and beautiful with the gold shimmer!

Water Marble

Hello ladies!

Today I have some more nail art to show you guys - a water marble skittlette manicure!

If you do not know what water marble is, you can see this tutorial by Sara from SaraBeautyCorner on YouTube, where she explains the basics of water marbling.
If you do not know what a skittlette manicure is, you can read about how Marta from Chit Chat Nails explains it here.

For the manicure I used my new favorite red nail polish L'Oréal Exquisite Scarlet on my thumb and index finger and the red texture glitter OPI Magazine Cover Mouse on my pinky. On my middle and ring finger I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I water marbled with the red L'Oréal Exquisite Scarlet, the light grey Essie Cocktail Bling and the dark grey L'Oréal Rue Montmartre.

This is my first successful try at water marbling and I am really proud of my self!
