Matching

Hello ladies!

Today I have something a little different to show you guys - nail art made to match my weekend bag from Friis & Company!
I actually did something like this once before with my shoes from SHOE SHI BAR.
For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pinky, middle and ring finger and a taupe/brown base of Essie Chinchilly on my pointer and thumb. For the floral print on my middle and ring finger I applied full nail water decals and I painted on the silver half-moon on my pinky with the silver nail polish Essie No Place Like Chrome.

The water decals I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in one sheet (#15582 in the pattern #DLS-194), so you have to cut it out in smaller pieces that fit your nails before use. You can also get the same pattern with a different back-ground color, but I chose the black one to match my bag.
I like these water decals as there are enough for numerous manicures (considering you only use them as an accent nail or two), they are really pretty and classy, they are easy to apply and you get a lot for your money (they only cost 1.59$!).
If you want to buy something from Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

I love how well this manicure matches my bag and how pretty it turned out!

Fancy Friday: New Year

Hello ladies!

Today I have the first Fancy Friday challenge of 2015 for you guys - my New Year's nails!

As I stayed with my parents during the holidays I didn't have the equipment to make any nail art for New Year, so instead I wore piCture pOlish O'Hara, which is a red nail polish with scattered holographic shimmer that matched my red lipstick for New Year's Eve.

I also want to show you guys my New Year's manicures from 2012 and 2013 to show you how much I have developed these last years!

I am really proud of how much I have developed!

Snowmen

Hey guys!

♫ Do you wanna build a snowman?
Today I have some snowman nail art for you guys!

For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Borrowed & Blue on all my nails except for my pinky which I painted with a textured silver of OPI It's Frosty Outside. For the nail art on my middle and ring finger I applied some snowman water decals.

The water decals I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. They come on a sheet (#9971 in the pattern BLE117) with a lot of different decals - christmas trees, snowmen and santa hats to name a few. There are also a lot of other christmas water decals in different styles and motives.
I really like these water decals as they are easy to apply, look really awesome on and are really cheap (they are only 0.99$!).
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

I really like these cute little snowmen!

For the manicure I started off with a dark green base of Essie Going Incognito with the silver glitter Essie Set in Stones on top. Afterwards I used a small dotting tool and the metallic gold polish Essie Good as Gold to make the tinsels. Lastly I used a big dotting tool and white acrylic paint followed by the red shimmer polish piCture pOlish Bridget to make the ornaments.

I love how sparkly and festive this turned out!

Christmas Trees

Hi girls!

In November I made some christmas nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. and during December I will be showing them to you.
First up is a christmas tree manicure!

To make this christmas tree manicure I started off with a fuchsia base of By K. Pink Dahlia. For the nail art on my ring and middle finger I used some tape and the teal green glitter By K. Waterfall to make triangles resembling christmas trees. Afterwards I used the silver holographic glitter By K. Super Nova and an orange stick to place the glitters like tinsels on the christmas tress. Lastly I placed the gold star studs from Born Pretty Store (#5003) on top of the trees.

I really like how I used untraditional christmas colors and how this turned out really christmas-y anyway!

Chevron Skittlette

For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc on my ring and middle finger, a teal green base of Essie Ruffles & Feathers on my pointer and thumb and a silver texture base of OPI It's Frosty Outside on my pinky. To make the chevron nail art on my middle and ring finger I used Chevron Nail Vinyls from Glam My Mani and the black nail polish Essie Licorice.

Floating French

Hell ladies!

Today I have some nail art to share with you guys - a floating french manicure.
For those of you who do not know what a floating french manicure is, it is a french manicure tipped 90 degrees so the curve is on the edge of the nail instead of along the tip.

For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Mint Candy Apple. Afterwards I used French Tip Nail Vinyls from Glam My Mani and the silver nail polish By K. Moon Dust to achieve the floating french look.

I really love how this floating french turned out - definitely not the last time I will make one!

Fancy Friday: Party

Hi girls!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys and this time the challenge is Party!
At first I wanted to make beer nails, but I could not find a good beer colour in my polish stash - not even with the help of my boyfriend who is a collector of beer! So instead of beer nails I decided to make some nail art that I would actually wear to a party. I normally just wear plain red nails (to match my red lipstick), a plain colour to match my outfit, or some simple nail art, which I will be doing today!
The manicure was inspired by the ever so amazing Miss Chinchilly.

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the gold/silver glitter Essie Beyond Cosy to make random lines in different lengths down the nails.

I really like this manicure and I will definitely be wearing this look to the next party I go to!

Dry Marble

Hello ladies!

Today I have some nail art to show you guys - a dry marble skittlette!
The dry marble technique was inspired by Krummes krummelurer.

For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Borrowed & Blue on my pinky, ring and middle finger. On my pointer and thumb I started off with a blue base of Ciaté Skinny Jeans. For the nail art on my ring and middle finger, I applied Essie Borrowed & Blue on half the nail and Ciaté Skinny Jeans on the other half. Afterwards I used an orange stick to draw spirals in the still wet nail polish. To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust on my pinky.

I love, love, love this simple and easy dry marble technique!

Fancy Friday: Around the World

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the challenge is Around the World. When I first saw what the challenge was this week, I thought about making a manicure with flags from all the places I have visited around the world, but I already did that once. That is why I allowed myself to use my artistic freedom and make a galaxy manicure. If you have to go all around the world, you should go to space, right? Maybe not, but I made a galaxy manicure anyway!

I also wanted to show you guys my first try at making a galaxy manicure a little over a year ago. That is why I decided to make a 'Then and Now', to show you guys how much I have developed this last year!

Then

For the 'Now' manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by cutepolish on YouTube using Essie Blanc (white), Essie In the Cab-Ana (turquoise), Essie Mesmerize (blue), Essie After School Boy Blazer (dark blue), Ciaté Big Yellow Taxi (yellow), Maybelline Coral Craze (orange), Essie No Place Like Chrome (silver) and China Glaze Fairy Dust (silver glitter).

Now

I really have developed a lot this last year and I am really proud of myself!

Waterfall

Hi girls!

Sorry about the silence on the blog this last week, but I just moved and it has been really stressful. Fortunately I am back and ready to show you guys some nail art I did today - a waterfall manicure!

For the manicure I started off with a mint blue base of Essie Mint Candy Apple. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the silver/gold glitter Essie Beyond Cosy to make random lines in different lengths down the nail to make it resemble a waterfall.

I love a good waterfall manicure and this one is no exception.

Fancy Friday: Girly

Hi girls!

Today I have some more Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday challenge is girly, so I decided to go all out with a pink base and a glitter gradient!

For the manicure I started off with a light pink base of Essie Fiji. Afterwards I used Essie Set in Stones to make the gradient effect down the nail.

I love how girly and cute these turned out - perfect for today's challenge.

Fancy Friday: Cloud Manicure

Hello ladies!

Today I have some more Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday Challenge is doing a cloud manicure. If you guys do not know what a cloud manicure is, I found a simple tutorial here by Jane at Nail Side.

When I saw what the challenge was this week, I remembered my first try at doing a cloud manicure a little over a year ago. That is why I decided to recreate my first try and make a 'Then and Now', to show you guys how much I have developed this last year.

Then

For the 'Now' manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice. Afterwards I followed Jane's tutorial using the silver polish Essie No Place Like Chrome and the royal blue polish Essie Mesmerize.

Now

I have really developed a lot this last year and I am really proud of myself!

Fancy Friday: Skittlette

Hello ladies!

Today I have another Fancy Friday manicure for you guys!
Fancy Friday is a group of Danish nail polish keen bloggers, that follows a joint challenge in the world of nail polish and nail art every friday.

This time the Fancy Friday challenge is a skittlette manicure!
If you do not know what a skittlette manicure is, you can read about how Marta from Chit Chat Nails explains it here.

For the manicure I used the much discussed nail polish Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on my thumb and index finger, Essie Licorice with Essie Blanc dots on my middle and ring finger and OPI It's Frosty Outside on my pinky.

I am obsessed with how this turned out! I am definitely going to make more skittlette manicures in the future!

Ruffian with silver and green

Hey guys!

Today I made another manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using no. 68 Moon Dust from their Imperial Collection and no. 64 First Class from their AW13 Collection.

I started off with a silver base of By K. Moon Dust. Afterwards I painted on two coats of By K. First Class a little higher up the nail, but in the same shape so you leave that little moon shape at the cuticle area. It is a really easy design, and it is so classy and pretty at the same time!

I love this ruffian manicure - I think it is so pretty!

Hey guys!

Tonight I made some nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using two of the three polishes from their Imperial collection.

I started off with a silver base of By K. Moon Dust. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by Alice at One Nail To Rule Them All, using By K. The Sky is the Limit (red), OPI Alpine Snow (white) and my Black Barry M Nail Art Pen for the black outline.

By K. Imperial Collection

Hi girls!

Today I have swatches and reviews of the Danish nail polish brand By K.'s Imperial collection.
The collection consists of a beautiful crelly polish, an amazing glitter top coat and an awesome metallic polish!

First off I would like to tell you guys a little bit about the brand By K.
By K. is a Danish nail polish brand established in March 2012. The brand only produces nail polishes without any critical substances that were tested on animals. Their polishes are Cruelty Free, vegan and 5-Free, which I think is pretty amazing!

THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
A classic red nail polish - so beautiful.
The formula on this one was amazing and the opacity was fantastic as well - one quick coat and you are good to go!

SUPER NOVA
A mix of silver holographic small and hexagon glitters in a clear base - so awesome!
The formula of this polish was amazing - not too thick and not too thin, so the glitter pay-off was fantastic as well.
Below I used one coat of Super Nova over The Sky is the Limit.

MOON DUST
A gorgeous silver metallic.
The formula was great - it was nice and buttery and I only needed two thin coats for it to be completely opaque.

Overall I love this collection - the polishes are all fantastic and they go great with each other! I am going to do some nail art with these polishes together really soon, so stay tuned.
What do you girls think of this collection? Let me know in the comments!

Lemming Part II

Hello again ladies!

Yesterday I swatched Dance Legend's Gold Leaf top coat - today I am swatching their Silver Leaf top coat.

The formula of the top coat was great and so was the flakes of glitter pay-off! Just perfect!
Down below I used one coat over the blue nail polish OPI Dating a Royal.

I am in love with the two (Gold Leaf and Silver Leaf) top coats from Dance Legend - they are both pretty over almost any colour and they both have great formulas.
What do you girls think of them? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo
