April Nail Art Challenge: Animals

Hello lovelies!

Today I have another manicure for the April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday.
The challenge today is to be inspired by animals and I made this snakeskin manicure inspired by one of my shirts.

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on all my nails. Afterwards I stamped on the snakeskin design with MoYou London Pro Plate Collection 03 and Mundo de Uñas White stamping polish. Lastly I used a make-up sponge and the grey polish Essie Cocktail Bling to dab on a little polish around the nails to make a gradient effect.

And here it is with the shirt I was inspired by.

I really love how this manicure turned out!

April Nail Art Challenge: Family

Hey guys!

Time for another manicure for the April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday!
Today the challenge is to be inspired by family. I told my little brother to pick out some polishes and he chose a blue, a green, a white, and a black. I made this dotticure inspired by Rijah with the polishes my little brother chose.

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Essie Butler Please on all my nails except for my ring finger, which I painted white with OPI Alpine Snow. Afterwards I used a medium sized dotting tool and the two polishes I have already mentioned, the green By K. First Class, and the black Essie Licorice to make the dotticure.

I really like how the ring finger turned out, but I don't know if I like the color combination on the other nails.

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, a purple base of Essie Play Date on my middle and ring finger, and a holographic purple base of piCture pOlish Hussy on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I used MoYou London Pro Plate Collection 07 to stamp the design on my middle and ring finger with Mundo de Uñas White followed by piCture pOlish Hussy.

I absolutely LOVE how this manicure turned out!

April Nail Art Challenge: Nimbus

Hey guys!

Today it is time for another manicure for the April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday!
The challenge today is nimbus and I made an easter-themed skittlette (as I wore this manicure for an easter lunch).

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my middle finger, ring finger, and pinky, and a yellow base of OPI I Just Can't Cope-Acabana on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by Sammy of The Nailasaurus using the following polishes: OPI I Just Can't Cope-Acabana (yellow), Essie Blossom Dandy (mint), and Essie Mojito Madness (green). To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

It is the first time I tried making a nimbus manicure, but definitely not the last!

April Nail Art Challenge: Orange

Hello ladies!

Today I have another April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday to show you guys!
The theme today is orange (which I interpreted as the fruit and not the color) and I made this orange half-moon manicure.

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of piCture pOlish Swagger on all my nails. Then I freehanded on the half-moon oranges on my middle and ring finger using white acrylic paint and the two orange polishes Etude House OR202 and L'Oréal Lush Tangerine. Lastly I applied the holographic glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust on my pinky.

I think this is a fun interpretation of today's challenge!

Fancy Friday: Easter

Hello ladies!

Today it is time for another Fancy Friday challenge, where the theme this week is easter.
I made a manicure inspired by the colors of easter (yellow and green) and the decorations on easer eggs (tribal print).

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on all my nails. Afterwards I made a gradient with a make-up sponge, the yellow polish Ciaté Big Yellow Taxi, and the green Essie First Timer. Then I freehanded on the tribal print with white acrylic paint and a small nail art brush. Unfortunately the yellow polish "swallowed" the white acrylic paint after I applied the top coat, so it looks faded over the yellow polish.

I like how this turned out, even though the white acrylic paint is a little faded.

Fancy Friday: Untried

Hello ladies!

Today it is time for this week's Fancy Friday with the theme untried.
I used an untried nail polish: Yves Saint Laurent Parme Graffiti.

For the manicure I started off with a purple base of Yves Saint Laurent Parme Graffiti on all my nails. Afterwards I used white acrylic paint, a dotting tool and round, gold studs to make the flowers.

I feel so ready for spring with this cute manicure!

Floral

Hello ladies!

Today I made a floral skittlette that is perfect for spring!

For the manicure I started off with a purple base of Essie Lapis of Luxury on my pointer and thumb, and a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, middle, and ring finger. Afterwards I applied floral water decals to my middle and ring finger. To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

The water decals I used for this manicure are from Born Pretty Store. They come in one sheet (#16259), so you have to cut it out in smaller pieces that fit your nails before use. On the sheet there are also some pink flowers you can use in another manicure.
I like these water decals as there are enough for numerous manicures (considering you only use them as an accent nail or two), they are really pretty and fun, they are easy to apply, and you get a lot for your money (they only cost $1.99!).

Cherries

Hey guys!

Today I made a cute, summer-y manicure featuring little cherries!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, ring, and middle finger, and a red base of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art on my pointer and thumb. For the cherry nail art on my ring and middle finger I used a dotting tool and the red nail polish to dot on the cherries followed by a small nail art brush and green acrylic paint to make the stems. To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

I think this manicure would be perfect for summer!

Stamping is hard!

Hey guys!

Today I made a simple black and white manicure featuring stamping (that is a little crooked and smeared)!

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pinky, middle, and ring finger, and a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I stamped the pattern on my middle and ring finger using MoYou London Fashionista Plate Collection 08 and Mundo de Uñas White.

I think stamping is a hard skill to master!

Moustache Studs

Hey guys!

Today I have a simple skittlette featuring moustache studs to share with you!

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Yves Saint Laurent Bleu Majorelle on my pointer and thumb, a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my middle and ring finger, and a silver texture polish on my pinky. Afterwards I applied the moustache studs to my ring and middle finger.

The moustache studs I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of five (#6506 in the color Silver), so if you use them as an accent nail (or two), there are for a couple of manicures in the pack. They also come in gold and bronze.
I collect things with moustaches on them and these studs are perfect! I really like them because they are awesome and fun, and because they are curved to fit the nail, which make them really easy to use!
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store, remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 for 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

I love these cute moustache studs!

Fancy Friday: Text

Hey guys!

Today it is time for another Fancy Friday challenge.
This week the challenge is text and I decided to make a chalkboard with different kinds of text and doodles.
I also thought about doing newspaper nail art, but I did once before.

For the manicure I started off with a dark green base of Essie Going Incognito. Afterwards I freehanded the text and doodles with white acrylic paint and a small nail art brush. I finished with a matte top coat of Essie Matte About You.

While I write this blog post I realized I should have interpreted this challenge as text(ure) instead!

Fancy Friday: Inspired by Fancy Friday

Hi girls!

The challenge for this week's Fancy Friday is to be inspired by another member of Fancy Friday.
I had a really hard time choosing just one manicure to be inspired by as the other members of Fancy Friday are some really talented and amazing ladies. After a lot of trouble I managed to limit myself to two manicures.

For the first manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sofie Amalie at According to Malle.
I started off with a base of the beautiful blue Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on all my nails. Afterwards I used a straw, the black polish Essie Licorice and the silver polish Essie No Place Like Chrome to achieve the splatter effect by dipping the straw in the polish and blowing the polish onto the nails.

For the second manicure I was inspired by this manicure by Sussi at Negle Nymfer.
I started off with a pink base of Essie Lovie Dovie. Afterwards I used the brushes in the white polish OPI Alpine Snow followed by the pink/red Essie Double Breasted Jacket to make the cloud effect.

I wish I could have done 20 manicures - one for each of the members of Fancy Friday!

Polka Dots

Hello ladies!

Today I have some nail art that I am really happy with to show you guys featuring some glitter placement that turned out awesome!

For the manicure I started off with a blurple (blue/purple) base of OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? on all my nails except for my pinky which I painted with the silver texture polish OPI It's Frosty Outside. For the nail art on my middle and ring finger I placed white, round glitters from Born Pretty Store (#2370) in a polka dot pattern.

As I said I really, really love this manicure!

Feathers

Hello ladies!

Today I would like to show you guys some simple nail art I did featuring feathers!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, ring and middle finger and with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I applied the feathers to the still wet nail polish on my middle and ring finger. Lastly I cut off the piece of the feathers that were outside of the nails.

The feathers I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of five feathers (#160 in the color #8), which is more than enough considering you'll never wear these on all your nails but only as an accent nail (or two). The feathers also come in other colors (red, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple to name some).
I like these feathers as they are easy to use, can make any manicure a little more exciting and festive, and they are really inexpensive (only 0.99$!).
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

I love how simple and classy this manicure is!

Decisions, decisions

Hey guys!

I have so many untried polishes right now, I don't even know which one(s) to try on first (a real first world problem, right?)! I actually made a deal with myself that I won't buy any more nail polish until I have tried them all!

Today I would like to share two of my untrieds with you guys: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art and piCture pOlish Minty.

Yves Saint Laurent is a red crelly (a mix of creme and jelly - read more about it here) that is opaque in two thin coats. I love bright reds so of course I needed this one in my life!
piCture pOlish Minty is a mint green crelly with matte white and dark pink glitter and a scattered holographic shimmer - so unique.

I love these two together!

Christmas Sweater

Hello ladies!

Today I made a christmas sweater skittlette that I would like to show you guys.

For this manicure I started off with a red base of By K. The Sky is the Limit on all my nails. Afterwards I stamped the sweater design on my middle and ring finger using MoYou London Festive Plate Collection 02 and Mundo de Uñas White stamping polish. To finish off the skittlette I added the silver holographic glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

Even though the stamping is not perfect, I really, really love how this turned out!

Icicles

Hey guys!

Today I have some more christmas nail art that I made for the Danish nail polish brand By K. to share with you - icicles nail art!

For the manicure I started off with a dark blue base of By K. Ink. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and white acrylic paint to freehand on the icicles coming down from the cuticles. Lastly I added the silver details on the icicles with the brush and the silver nail polish By K. Moon Dust.

This manicure is so simple and really easy to make!

Santa Hats

Hey guys!

Today I have some more christmas nail art to show you: a french santa hat manicure!

For the nail art I started off with a red tip of Essie Lollipop. Afterwards I used the white nail polish Essie Blanc and a dotting tool to add the fur details on the santa hats. Then I went in again with Essie Lollipop and a small nail art brush to draw a triangular shape down the nail to make it resemble the top of the santa hats. Lasty I added more fur details with Essie Blanc and a dotting tool and outlined the top of the hats with black acrylic paint and a small nail art brush.

This is one of my all time favorite christmas manicures!

Hi girls!

Today I have some simple christmas nail art to show you guys - a snow flake manicure!

I started off with a blue base of piCture pOlish Cosmos (such a beautiful shade!). Afterwards I used the white stamping polish Mundo de Uñas White and MoYou London Festive Plate Collection 02 to stamp on the snow flakes.

This manicure can easily be worn in the other winter months as well.
