OPI Alcatraz...Rocks

Hi girls!

Today I have a review and swatch of an OPI liquid sand nail polish to show you guys - OPI Alcatraz...Rocks from their San Francisco Collection for Fall 2013.

Alcatraz...Rocks is a deep, smokey navy/purple textured nail polish with different colours of shimmers within - gold and purple being the most visible ones. A really unique and pretty polish!

The formula of the polish was great - a little on the thick side, but that only made it easier to apply, as it is filled with glitters and other heavy texture-pieces.
The opacity of the polish was also good - two thick coats and you are good to go! In extension of the opacity, the wear time is amazing as well. I wore it for a good four days without any chipping - and if it chips anyway, a little fresh polish on the chipped part fixes it easily and unnoticeably!
The dry time was also okay - half an hour to forty-five minutes before it is completely dry.

For the photos below I used two thick coats and no top coat.

Do you girls like this textured nail polish? Do you like textured polishes in general?

28 Galaxy

Hello ladies!

Today I have the last manicure of the February Nail Art Challenge to show you guys - galaxy nails!

I started off with a base of OPI 4 in the Morning for the black universe and the glitter Flomar #393 to add some stars. Afterwards I followed cutepolish' tutorial on how to do galaxy nails, using the following colours for the nebulas and moons: OPI Alpine Snow (white), Essie Play Date (purple), OPI Dating a Royal (blue), Essie Good as Gold (gold), L'Oréal Exotic Canaries (yellow) and Créton Jeans Coral (self-explanatory).

I really love this manicure! Such an awesome design.

Essie Jazzy Jubilant

Hi girls!

Today I have an Essie nail polish to show and swatch for you guys - Essie Jazzy Jubilant.
Jazzy Jubilant is a multicoloured glitter in a clear base. The polish consists of red, blue, green, purple, silver and gold hexagon-shaped glitters in various sizes - it sounds like a handful, but the polish is actually one of the more subdued multicoloured glitters I have seen.

The formula of Jazzy Jubilant is okay - the clear base of the polish is a little heavy, which makes it hard to get enough glitter onto the nails. But the polish is so pretty and it is totally worth the trouble!

Down below the polish is shown as a gradiant over OPI Alpine Snow.

I love how the polish look likes confetti - a party on the nails.

25 Simple

Hello girls!

Another day, another manicure for the February Nail Art Challenge.
Today it is a simple manicure!

I started off with a base of OPI 4 in the Morning - a black nail polish with silver micro-glitters. Afterwards I used some silver striping tape to tape on some horizontal lines across my nails. Easy-peasy!

This is definitely my go-to manicure! It is simple to make, I always get a lot of compliments on it and it looks really pretty and edgy.

L'Oréal Confetti

Hey guys!

Today I have a glitter top coat to show you - the L'Oréal Top Coat Confettis nail polish called Confetti. Confetti is a clear nail polish filled with black and white round and hexagon glitters in various sizes and some very subtle glitter.
I swatched another one of L'Oréal's glitter top coats earlier this week. You can check out that swatch here.

The formula of Confetti was really good, and it was very easy to apply. The glitter pay-off was almost perfect, and the glitters only needed very little placement. Down below the polish is shown over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue - one layer of glitter on my middle finger and two layers on my ring finger.

I hurried on down and bought this nail polish, after I tried on my other L'Oréal glitter top coat. They are both soooo good!

If you like different and fun glitters, I can only recommend you buying this one. The formula and glitter pay-off is amazing and the polish looks really pretty over any colour!

23 Animal Theme

Hello ladies!

Today I have another manicure of the February Nail Art Challenge to show you guys - an animal themed manicure.
As some of you know, I am already doing an animal theme, and you can see the other manicures here!

I started off with dusty purple a base of Essie Warm & Toasty Turtleneck. Afterwards I used my Black Barry M Nail Art Pen to freehand on the birds. So easy!

I love this manicure! So simple, but sooo pretty!

20 Floral

Hey guys!

Another day, another challenge in the February Nail Art Challenge.
This time it is a floral manicure!

I started off with a pastel green base of Etude House GR701 on all of my nails. Afterwards I used some white nail polish and a striper to paint on stripes on all of my nails, except for my two accent nails, where I freehanded on some roses following this tutorial by Sam at The Nailasaurus, with the following colours: Essie Lollipop (red), Essie Bordeaux (self-explanatory), Tiger Nail Polish #18 (pink) and Essie Pretty Edgy (green).

I really love the mix of patterns in this manicure.
