Snow in the woods

Hi girls!

Today I made a simple manicure using Essie Going Incognito and Dance Legend Dotty Top.
When I was done, it totally reminded me of snow in the woods!

Essie Going Incognito is a dark green polish. The formula was amazing - sooo buttery and smooth to apply and it only needed two quick coats to be completely opaque.
Dance Legend Dotty Top is white hexagon glitters in a clear base. The formula was great and so was the glitter pay-off.

What do you girls think of this manicure? Does is remind you of snow in the woods as well?

Purple dotticure

Hey guys!

Today I made some more nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using two of the polishes from their AW13 Collection - no. 69 Acai and no. 70 Pink Dahlia.

I started off with a base of Pink Dahlia. Afterwards I used a medium sized dotting tool to dot on Acai in a polka dot pattern. Easy-peasy!

What do you guys think about this dotticure?

Nail Care Routine

Hi girls!

Today I have a different kind of post for you - I will show and tell you guys about my nail care routine.

My nail care essentials

First thing first: nail shape. I use a cheap, regular nail file to shape my nails in the shape called square nails. It is pretty simple really - you just have to file your nails straight across. I never cut my nails, because it makes them split at the tip, but I file my nails about once or twice a week (with nail polish on as a guide).

Naked nails
When I am done filling my nails, I take off my nail polish with a regular nail polish remover with acetone. I have no preferences yet, so unfortunately I cannot recommend anything. If I am wearing a glitter polish I soak my nails in pure acetone for about two or three minutes. I always wash my hands thoroughly after removing my nail polish.

After that is done I use one of my OPI Cuticle Sticks to push back my cuticles and afterwards I apply my Essie Apricot Oil to my cuticles (amazing product!). If my hands is a little dry, I also use a regular hand cream to moisturize my hands - again no preferences.

After the cream and oil is completely dry, I apply my OPI Nail Envy. It is amazing and it works perfectly - it really strengthens my nails. I also use it as a base coat.

And that is it! Pretty simple routine really - nothing big.
What do you girls do to take care of your nails? Let me know in the comments!

Bows

Hey guys!

Tonight I made some nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using two of the three polishes from their Imperial collection.

I started off with a silver base of By K. Moon Dust. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by Alice at One Nail To Rule Them All, using By K. The Sky is the Limit (red), OPI Alpine Snow (white) and my Black Barry M Nail Art Pen for the black outline.

What do you guys think about this bow nail art?

St. Patrick's Day

Hey guys!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope you are all wearing green today - I am in the form of nail polish (naturally).
Today I have a swatch and review of Dance Legend Top Magnetic for you guys.
Top Magnetic is a silvery grey magnetic top coat.

The formula was great - smooth and really easy to apply. The top coat is supplied with a magnet with diagonal lines, which works perfectly! You just have to hold it over the wet polish for 10 seconds or so and the silver particles all line up nicely to create the magnetic effect.
The magnetic effect is very strong and clean, provided you hold the magnet still for the 10 seconds.
Down below the Top Magnetic is shown over the green polish Essie Pretty Edgy.

Dance Legend Top Magnetic is really awesome because it makes any one of your polishes into a magnetic!
What do you girls think of that? Let me know in the comments!

By K. Imperial Collection

Hi girls!

Today I have swatches and reviews of the Danish nail polish brand By K.'s Imperial collection.
The collection consists of a beautiful crelly polish, an amazing glitter top coat and an awesome metallic polish!

First off I would like to tell you guys a little bit about the brand By K.
By K. is a Danish nail polish brand established in March 2012. The brand only produces nail polishes without any critical substances that were tested on animals. Their polishes are Cruelty Free, vegan and 5-Free, which I think is pretty amazing!

THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
A classic red nail polish - so beautiful.
The formula on this one was amazing and the opacity was fantastic as well - one quick coat and you are good to go!

SUPER NOVA
A mix of silver holographic small and hexagon glitters in a clear base - so awesome!
The formula of this polish was amazing - not too thick and not too thin, so the glitter pay-off was fantastic as well.
Below I used one coat of Super Nova over The Sky is the Limit.

MOON DUST
A gorgeous silver metallic.
The formula was great - it was nice and buttery and I only needed two thin coats for it to be completely opaque.

Overall I love this collection - the polishes are all fantastic and they go great with each other! I am going to do some nail art with these polishes together really soon, so stay tuned.
What do you girls think of this collection? Let me know in the comments!

OPI Couture de Minnie Collection

Hello ladies!

Today I have swatched and reviewed OPI's second Minnie Mouse Collection - The Couture de Minnie Collection.
The collection includes three gorgeous shimmers, an awesome glitter and a beautiful liquid sand, all in the girly light pink to red colour scheme.

INNIE MINNIE MIGHTIE BOW
A red polish with a shimmer running throughout.
The formula on this one was great - a little on the thin side, but really opaque. It was almost a one-coater, but below I used two coats to be on the safe side.
I love this polish - a classic red with a little extra!

MAGAZINE COVER MOUSE
A strawberry red liquid sand nail polish with different colours of shimmers within - gold and pink being the most visible ones. So beautiful!
The formula was great - a little on the thick side, but that only made it easier to apply. The opacity was great as well. For the photo below I used two coats.

A DEFINITE MOUST-HAVE
A hot pink with a pearlescent-like shimmer running throughout.
The formula was good - a little on the thin side, but it was nice, creamy and really opaque. Like Innie Minnie Mightie Bow it was almost an one-coater, but I used two coats for the photo below.

CHIC FROM EARS TO TAIL
A light bubblegum pink with a very, very subtle shimmer.
The formula was okay - nice and buttery, but the opacity was really bad - I needed four coats for it be opaque enough.

MINNIE STYLE
Magenta and white hexagon and square glitters in a clear base - so awesome!
The formula on this one was great, but the glitter pay-off wasn't. I feel like the best way to apply this polish, is to dab on the glitters in the desired areas of the nail. For the photo below I used one to two coats over Chic from Ears to Tail.

All in all I really like this collection - amazing colours and great formulas.
What do you girls think of this collection? Let me know in the comments!
