Black on Black

Hey guys!

Today I received not one, but two nail mails, so I decided to create some mysterious, dark nail art with the things I got!

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on all my nails, except for my ring finger and pinky, which I painted with the black, holographic glitter F.U.N Lacquer Black Holo Witch. Afterwards I used a square swirl nail vinyl from Snail Vinyls on my ring finger and Essie Licorice to create the accent nail.

I am in love with this beautiful, but dark and mysterious manicure!

Bling

Hey guys!

Today I have some simple nail art with a little bling to share with you!

For the manicure I started off with a red base of the beautiful Essie Happy Wife Happy Life on all my nails. On my ring finger I only painted two thirds of the nail to create a negative space effect toward the cuticle area on my nail. To finish everything off I applied a rectangular rhinestone to my ring finger.

Essie Sleek Stick Nail Stickers

Hey guys!

Today I have a review of the Essie Sleek Stick Nail Stickers in the color 09 Stickers and Stones, which is nail stickers in a taupe color with a vertical silver glitter gradient.

The package contains 18 nail stickers in various sizes, 1 nail file, and 1 instruction sheet.

The nail stickers are really difficult to apply to the nails, because they are so thick. This results in a somewhat wrinkled look on the nails, which is a shame. I really like that color and design of the nail stickers though.

Usually I would use a top coat to smoothen out the small imperfections and wrinkles, but when I attempted that, they wrinkled up even more (as on the picture below)!

I think it is unfortunate that they are not working with top coat, as it means that they won't be longwearing on the nails (as advertised on the packaging).

All in all, I am really disappointed with these nail stickers. They are really pretty in the package, but they do not apply well and they look awful on the nails.

Essie On the Roadie

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the pretty Essie On the Roadie from the new Essie Spring 2017 collection.

The formula of this polish is amazing - it is smooth and stays right where you put it. The opacity is great as well and it is completely opaque in two coats. The dry time is fantastic and it dries surprisingly fast!

This polish is awesome!

Skittlette

Hey guys!

Today I made a skittlette inspired by the very first skittlette I ever made!

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on my pointer and thumb, a black base of Essie Licorice on my middle and ring finger, and a textured silver base of OPI It's Frosty Outside on my pinky. Afterwards I added the polka dots to my middle and ring finger using white acrylic paint and a small dotting tool. To finish everything off I placed small, silver studs on top of a few of the polka dots on my ring and middle finger.

I think this recreation turned out pretty cool!

CND Solar Oil

Hey guys!

Today I have a review of my absolute favourite cuticle oil to share with you - CND Solar Oil.
Solar Oil is an award-winning cuticle oil and it is infused with jojoba oil and vitamin E.

Solar Oil is the most moisturizing cuticle oil I have ever tried and it absorbs into the skin really fast. It smells deliciously of marzipan or sweet almonds. I use this 1-3 times a day (closer to 3 times a day in the colder months and closer to 1 time a day in the warmer months) for perfect cuticles and stronger nails.

It is available in a lot of sizes and I have it in three different sizes. I always have the smallest one in my bag - it is perfect for fixing dry nails on the go.

On my ring finger I only applied OPI That's Hula-rious to the bottom 2/3 of the nails to create the negative space effect. Afterwards I applied a single stripe of bronze striping tape to my ring finger.

piCture pOlish Chance

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the stunning piCture pOlish Chance to share with you!
Chance is a deep purple magnetic holo.

The formula is great - it is a little on the thin side, but it is easy to work with anyhow. The opacity is good and it needs two coats to reach full opacity. The magnetic effect is amazing and so beautiful!

Essie Treat Love & Color

Hey guys!

Today I have a review of two of the four new Treat Love & Color shades by Essie.
The Treat Love & Color series are nail strengtheners with a little color and a subtle shimmer.

First off I have Laven-dearly to share with you!
Laven-dearly is a sheer lavender shade with a subtle purple and magenta shimmer.

Next is Treat Me Bright, which is a sheer milky white with a subtle aqua blue and purple shimmer.

Close up!

And now for the review!
Essie recommends using two coats of these on clean and dry nails, but I only used one layer for the swatches above, as I think it is prettier that way.
These Treat Love & Color polishes gives the nails a beautiful barely-there look with a subtle shimmer, which is also totally work appropriate. I love how you can strengthen your nails while they get a beautiful polished look at the same time.
The dry time is amazing as well which is perfect, as you can apply a quick coat of this and be out the door in no time.

I have been really busy these last couple of days with a new semester starting, but today I am back with some minimalistic nail art!

For the manicure I started off with a base of piCture pOlish Freya's Cats on all my nails. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush dipped in acetone to remove some of the polish again and create the ombré negative space design.
